Have you ever felt pain when doing exercises such as deep squats, lunges, running or daily activities such as walking up the stairs? Then you might have dealt with the bout of PFPS, known as patellofemoral pain syndrome. Knee pain, especially PFPS, is the most common form of knee pain that gets treated in physician therapy. There are runners, CrossFit athletes, weightlifters and everyday people that deal with this pain. The pain gets so bad to where those who suffer with it are in crucial pain where they can’t move or they just avoid the problem in hopes that it’ll go away.
Our team knew that there had to be a cheaper option other than physical therapy to expedite the healing process of post procedural recovery and act as a preventative measure to future injuries. With our team all being passionate about fitness and living a healthy lifestyle, we knew that Angle Brace could provide our customers with both comfort and protection when using our product.
what is anglebrace?
Angle Brace is a knee brace aimed at helping correct knee posture in order to prevent and aid in knee issues stemming around the patella. With its universal size and diamond shaped pattern, users can stretch it to more than twice its size. The brace is paired with an app that allows you to set the necessary range of motion restrictions. The knee brace then vibrates if the knee extends or bends beyond that set range of motion, allowing you to take corrective action.

IP Strategy
Angle Brace does not currently have any patent protection. After speaking to a patent lawyer, our most realistic step would be to get a design patent. Also, after speaking to Dennis McWilliam, a commercialization expert, we would possibly have to go through the FDA licensing process. According to the FDA classification database, the brace would be considered a Class I. Luckily, this is the least time consuming and least expensive licensing available.
